Job Overview

The Audio & Tech Lead plays a vital role in creating a distraction-free and worshipful environment at Harvest Traverse City by overseeing all aspects of live audio, lighting, and video production. This position is responsible for managing Sunday morning tech operations, supporting midweek ministry events, and maintaining the church’s technical systems. The role includes hands-on execution, team leadership, and proactive problem-solving to ensure that every service and event runs with excellence and clarity.

Skills & Responsibilities

●  Audio Engineering & Production:
○  Prepare, mix, and manage all audio needs for Sunday services and other ministry events.
○  Oversee stage setup and improvements with excellence and efficiency.
●  Technical Systems & Infrastructure:
○  Maintain and troubleshoot AVL systems (audio, visual, lighting) and ensure all equipment is in good working order.
○  Manage upgrades and improvements as needed.
●  Team Leadership & Scheduling:
○  Recruit, train, and schedule tech volunteers.
○  Provide clear direction and support to ensure each service is executed with excellence.
●  Mid-Week & Event Support:
○  Provide tech setup and support for rehearsals and other ministry gatherings throughout the week.

Experience & Qualifications

●  A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission and values of Harvest Traverse City.
●  Experience mixing live audio in a church or professional setting & familiarity with digital mixing consoles (e.g., Allen & Heath, Behringer, etc.).
●  Working knowledge of AVL systems including lighting, video, streaming, and presentation software (e.g., ProPresenter, OBS, or similar).
●  Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to lead and train volunteers.
●  Comfortable troubleshooting and problem-solving graciously under pressure, especially during live services.
●  Willingness to serve in a flexible, hands-on role that includes both behind-the-scenes setup and active service execution.
