GIVER'S QUEST

When God teaches us, he often uses stories to engage our hearts. The Giver Quest’s stories are designed to help people of all ages consider the truths of Advent and apply them to their lives.

Discussion Starters:

  • Why is sin bad? (God loved us, even though we were sinners!)

  • Jesus loves us by saving us. Have you received salvation through Jesus?

  • Salvation through Jesus means we are restored to a right relationship with him. How have you sinned on purpose or by accident today?

  • Sin is choosing our way instead of God’s way.

God made everything and knows how it works best - including you and me!

If we want a full life the way God made it, we need to choose to follow his way. Have you chosen God’s way over yours, turning from sin, so that you can accept his gift of life and satisfaction and live with him now and forever?

  • Do you enjoy knowing, loving, and following Jesus? How do you enjoy knowing, loving, and following Jesus?

prayer of the week

1 John 3:16: By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

Father, we are so grateful as we reflect on your profound love described in 1 John 3:16. As we meditate on this verse, teach us to grasp the depth of your love for us. Help us to remember daily the price Jesus paid so that we might experience freedom and an intimate relationship with you. Let us take a moment to reflect on how you have shown us your love throughout the year.

We give thanks for the blessings received and the lessons learned. Renew our spirit and remind us that love is not merely a feeling but a call to action. Teach us to notice those who feel unloved, isolated, forgotten, or in need. Empower us to respond with compassion — so the world may see your love made visible through us and know they are loved.

Help us to recognize your presence in the world and in those around us. Guide us to see every person through Your eyes. Grant us the courage to reach out in kindness, to listen with empathy, and to act with generosity. Help us carry this mindset of Christ into the celebration of Christmas and throughout the coming year.

It is in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
