A QUICK INTRO TO THE SERMON SERIES:

In this season, we slow down to behold the wonder of what our Creator God has done.

In the first advent of Jesus, God Himself stepped into our world, not because he had to, but out of complete, sacrificial love to make a way for us.

We were created to long for Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace. Yet every substitute we chase, every secondary source we turn to, can never truly satisfy. These deep desires find their fulfillment in Christ alone.

Our Advent journey this year is designed to point us back to him. For anyone who has walked through disappointing Christmases, unmet expectations, or restless searching, our prayer is that you would encounter Jesus, the one your soul was made for, and find the satisfaction and wholeness only he can give.

Join us as we prepare our hearts, follow the story, and celebrate the Savior who came for us.

what to expect:

We invite you to follow along with "Come Let Us Adore Him" by Paul David Tripp throughout this Advent season. Each week, we’ll release a set of resources designed to help you slow down, reflect, and prepare your heart: A prayer, a key Scripture, the devotional reading for each week, a worship song to anchor your thoughts, and a new episode of Guibert's Quest (our family podcast).

All of these are centered on the themes of Advent—Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy—leading us through four intentional weeks of anticipation and culminating in the celebration of the coming of Jesus, our Christ, on the fifth week.

NEVER DONE ADVENT BEFORE?

The folks at Bible Project explain very well what Advent is all about:

"The Advent season is a four-week period in the Christian calendar that prepares people for Jesus Christ’s birth at Christmas, while also pointing ahead to his promised return. Each Sunday of the season traditionally spotlights a key theme—like hope, peace, joy, or love—to invite reflection, prayer, and expectant celebration."
The word ADVENT:

"The word “advent” comes from the Latin adventus, which is about a “coming” or an “arrival.” The Latin translation of the New Testament uses adventus to describe God the Son arriving on Earth, born as Jesus of Nazareth during the 1st century C.E."

ADVENT BREAKDOWN FOR EACH WEEK:
